MARLON SILVA - FROM ASPHALT TO BASALT

Marlon is one of those true ones that you can only find in real life. On the asphalt. On the basalt. He is admired not just for his skateboarding but also for the person he's become. Who doesn't love Gnarrlon? The youngsters call him inspiration. Because he passes on what he learns, doesn't hold anything back. He keeps the fire burning and shares the barbecue. Editing this video was like closing a cycle. The kid we saw growing up now helping other kids grow. Proud of you, my brother. Welcome aboard.

COMPLETES FOR KIDS

As part of our Instagram #CompletesForKids Holiday campaign we donated completes to our partners - Rising Leaders Skate Club (Camden, NJ), Haven Respite (Jersey City, NJ), and Skate Na Vila (Porto Alegre, Brazil). At Skate Na Vila every kid in the program was able to take home their own skateboard for the first time!

We're blessed by the skateboard part donations from our followers to help the kids. Also for our partner skate shops and volunteers that joined us on the campaign. The generosity was overwhelming and has helped our mission to serve the underserved.

SKATE NA VILA ART PROJECT

In December 2020, along with the Skate na Vila team, we promoted an art workshop for the kids served by the project. Following our role of presenting the creative opportunities skateboarding can bring, we invited kids to design their own board art. With the help of designer Frederico Antunes, we produced a video showing different examples and techniques for creating the art and each kid received a kit with paper, colored pens, glue, and scissors. The result was amazing! Check it out at the link below.
